THE LAB Martial Arts and Fitness Center is a family-focused martial arts school at 26 Creamery Lane, Easton, MD 21601. Owned by BJJ Black Belt John Givens (Robson Moura lineage), we teach Karate/Tae Kwon Do, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, and Wrestling for kids (age 4+) and adults across Talbot County and the Eastern Shore. The LAB Martial Arts & Fitness Center is a progressive, forward thinking multi-purpose learning facility focusing on the family unit as a whole. Its goal is to provide a safe, healthy and challenging environment for all ages.

In addition to focusing on the martial arts including Karate and Jiu Jitsu, the LAB provides transportation for before and after school care from area schools, day camps for off school times and monthly Parents Night Out. From programs like Mommy & Me designed for new mothers and their babies to exercise and grow together to Senior Stretching for the young at heart to keep moving and everything in between, the LAB is there for every step of the journey we call life.

Fitness is a state of mind and the LAB strives to be on the cutting edge of the latest health trends and updates programs to adjust to new technologies and data from the medical community. 

Providing a place for our children and youth to be part of a group where teamwork and unity are the rule, the LAB offers activities, learning and discipline that sets each student up for success in school and the future.

THE LAB Martial Arts and Fitness Center opened in March 2019 in Easton, MD. Owner John Givens has been teaching martial arts for 15+ years. The LAB Child Care Center was added in September 2020 (school-age) and February 2021 (early childhood).

John Givens is the owner and head instructor at THE LAB. He is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt in the Robson Moura lineage, with a decade+ of coaching experience. He also actively competes on weekends.

Does THE LAB serve areas outside Easton?

Yes. Families come to THE LAB from St. Michaels, Oxford, Trappe, Cambridge, Denton, and across Talbot County and the Eastern Shore of Maryland. We’re about 5 minutes from downtown Easton and easily reachable from Route 50 / Ocean Gateway.
